The Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania hosted the webinar “New resilient agroecosystems in the Mediterranean environment” on 5 June.
The seminar covered a range of topics including a general introduction to agroforestry systems, an overview of the Transition project, case studies from Italy, Spain and Algeria, the role of herbaceous crops in agroforestry systems and examples of modelling applied to these systems.
The event was well attended by 23 participants, including students, researchers and farmers. The engagement and curiosity of the audience fostered an interactive and dynamic atmosphere, making the seminar a resounding success. Due to the positive feedback and high interest, plans are already underway for another seminar in November 2024.
